Land of Enchantment Romance Authors (LERA) is a chapter of Romance Writers of America (RWA) located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Our mission is to support our members as they pursue a professional writing career in Romance and related genres.

Member benefits:

Members have access to monthly programming and networking opportunities that will help them stand out in the increasingly competitive publishing landscape. Programs balance the craft of writing with the ever-changing business side of publishing, providing members with the tools they need for their writing journey.  

Romance and beyond:

Our members include published and prepublished authors writing in a wide variety of genres including contemporary romance, historical romance, erotic romance, romantic suspense, paranormal romance, science fiction and fantasy, young adult, and women’s fiction. While happy endings are a must in Romance, all writers can benefit from learning how to deepen your character arcs, strengthen your pacing, and spice up your stories with strong romantic elements. How to Join:

To join LERA, you must first be a member of RWA.

Annual dues, payable every January, are $35.

Non-members are welcome to our monthly programs for a nominal fee. Use the form in the right-hand side bar to sign up to stay informed with our program offerings.

LERA Benevolence Fund:

LERA has a fund to help members IN NEED to help pay annual dues, programs, and/or conferences. Non-members who wish to join LERA, but don’t have the funds also qualify for help to pay annual dues. For more information, and to apply, click here.
