This month’s LERA program is a craft one about the character’s transformational arc. In romances, we read about how love changes our character(s), but how do we actually write that transformation?
M. A. (Melanie) Nichols has over 30 novels published. Through her career, she’s come to understand how important your characters are. Moreso than plot, world building, or any other aspect of your story. Character transformation is what makes them memorable people.
She has also written a recently released craft book, Kiss and Tell: Crafting Romance Plots and Subplots. One copy of this book will be given away to those who attend this program.
LERA will meet on Saturday, May 23, 2026. The business meeting starts at 11:00am (Mountain Time) with the program to follow at 11:30am. You can attend either virtually via Zoom or in person at Bear Canyon Senior Center, 4645 Pitt Street NE, Albuquerque. A replay will be sent to ALL registered attendees, but only those present will be eligible for the book prize.
Non-members are always welcome! To attend, please pay $10 at the link below. Click on the black button inside the big, gray box and follow the prompts. The instructions for the Zoom links will be sent to you.
Put the program on your calendar, since this is one you don’t want to miss.
