LERA Idol is a cold read of the first two pages of an unpublished manuscript read aloud to three judges.  You are kept anonymous — unless you wish to reveal yourself.  Our judges panel this year will be:  Tamra Baumann, Lauren C. Teffeau, and Carol Potenza.  Only twelve slots will be available, so get your entries in quickly!

This is a FREE opportunity!

The event will take place on Saturday, September 28, 2024.  The chapter meeting will begin at 11:00am (Mountain Time) at the Bear Canyon Senior Center in Albuquerque with the readings scheduled to start at 11:30am (Mountain Time).  Be forewarned that the event will be recorded.

How LERA Idol works:  The submission is read aloud while the judges read along silently.  Then the panel offers their take on the first two pages, what they liked and what might be improved upon.  Sometimes meeting participants also offer their opinions.  This is a cold read, which can be very revealing as to how a reader interprets what’s on the page.
